About Us

Global Cleantech Capital (GCC) is a growth-stage venture capital firm investing to scale exceptional companies into new market leaders in the clean energy, mobility, smart cities and fintech sectors. GCC invests in entrepreneurs and teams building companies that integrate technology to accelerate the green shift.

Founding partners managed four successive funds over the past 20 years in the clean energy sector. Based in Amsterdam investing in primarily in Europe and the US, we leverage our deep commercial, finance and renewable networks to help scale portfolio companies.

Energy Transition

Achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 requires rapid transitions across all sectors. The investment required to drive this shift towards sustainable consumption is $1-2T annually. GCC helps accelerate the shift through investments in growth companies leveraging new technology, digital solutions and new business models in the three most carbon-intensive sectors: energy, buildings and transport. Additionally, the net-zero transition creates huge demand for digital solutions in finance and in data to assess risk, carbon accounting and ESG reporting.

Responsibility

GCC has invested in sectors that advance sustainability over the past two decades and continues the commitment today. GCC believes that companies that use ESG aspects as a ‘tool for value creation’ have superior offerings to existing propositions, which will ultimately generate more robust returns and result in a more sustainable business. By considering ESG in our investment selection, we believe that we can identify and capture these value-adding opportunities and mitigate risks. GCC is a signatory of UN Principles for Responsible Investing (UNPRI).
